Alpaca Girls for Sale (Page 2 of 2)

. . . back to girls for sale on page 1

With many years of experience behind us, we are very happy to advise on all aspects of setting up and running a breeding herd. All of our breeding females are sold as pregnant with a guaranteed live birth. We can also provide attractive deals on subsequent matings to some of the best stud males in the UK.

When first setting up a breeding herd, we believe that a minimum of three females is best for a stress-free breeding group. Ideally, there should be at least one older, more experienced female as the leader, so that the social structure - so important for happy alpacas - is well-established at the outset. Also, we avoid matings & births between late autumn to early spring, as this can be another source of problems, particularly for the first-time breeder. For more information on setting up a breeding herd, read our "Starting Out with Alpacas" guide.

Igraine
£5750

Igraine

Comments: A gentle young breeding female with good conformation and a fine fleece with a very soft handle. Latest fleece stats are 18.3 micron, CV: 19.7% and %>30:  0.7%. Her sire is the famous Wessex Mateus, winner of the Supreme Championship at the National Show. She is mated to a solid light fawn sire, Wessex Julius, whose own sire is Highlander, the most famous of all Australian studs, whilst on his dam's side is found another legendary prize winner, Ledger's Dream. We already have a number of Julius cria on the ground for inspection - come and see what you can expect! A proven mother, you can inspect her last year's progeny on the farm.

Brunissen + female cria at foot
£5950

Brunie

Comments: An attactive and solid young female with good conformation, Brunissen would be an ideal foundation female or addition to an established herd looking for consistent coloured genetics. Her sire is the excellent Wessex Samuri, (solid medium fawn), whose combination of Accoyo bloodlines and solid colour genetics makes him one of our favourite studs. She is re-mated to Wessex Julius (solid light fawn), whose own sire is Highlander, the most famous of all Australian studs, whilst on his dam's side is found another legendary prize winner, Ledger's Dream.

Her cria, Rowena, is a most charming and attractive little girl, with a soft mid-fawn fleece. She's always the first to investigate any newcomers to the paddock! Daddy is Wessex Julius (solid light fawn), whose own sire is Highlander, the most famous of all Australian studs, whilst on his dam's side is found another legendary Australian prize winner, Ledger's Dream. We were so happy with Rowena, the result of this combination, that we remated Brunissen to Julius again this year.

Niniane + female cria at foot
£4950

Niniane

Comments: A pretty female with genetics from the Mike Saffley herd, her Sire is Westwool Titus.  She has inherited his lustrous fleece, which she passes on to her cria.  She has been remated to Wessex Samuri, (solid medium fawn), the winner of Supreme Champion at this year's Three Counties Show, and whose combination of Accoyo bloodlines and solid colour genetics makes him one of our favourite studs.

Her cria, Inogen, is a particulary good example of the sort of top-quality fleece style that Samuri is capable of throwing. Her lustrous fleece is already showing the dense, tightly-knotted organization so characteristic of his prize-winning genetics. Although her fleece colour is white, Inogen carries fawn genetics from both sides of the family, which a suitably coloured stud should be able to develop in the future.

Viviane + male cria at foot
£5250

Viviane

Comments: An experienced and caring mother, she delivers consistently outstanding cria, all of whom have fine dense fleeces well under 20 micron. Some are available for inspection on the farm. With good coverage and density, Viviane's fleece has also held a consistently low micron count - last year fleece stats were still 21.7 micron & CV 17.1%.  Her Sire is Westwool Captain, bred by Mike Saffley.

She has been mated to Wessex Samuri, (solid medium fawn), the winner of Supreme Champion at this year's Three Counties Show, and whose combination of Accoyo bloodlines and solid colour genetics makes him one of our favourite studs.

Cai is her new cria and has both a fine fleece and an extrovert personality! Daddy is Wessex Julius (solid light fawn), whose own sire is Highlander, the most famous of all Australian studs, whilst on his dam's side is found another legendary Australian prize winner, Ledger's Dream..

Comments: An excellent animal with good coverage and conformation from her impressive Australian bloodlines. Her top class genetics include Purrumbete Highlander and Purrumbete El Dorado through her Sire and Purrumbete Inti through her Dam.  She has a dense, lustrous fleece with good crimp and a soft handle. Latest fleece stats are 21.9 micron & CV: 20.1%.

Pucelle has been mated to Wessex Samuri, (solid medium fawn), the winner of Supreme Champion at this year's Three Counties Show, and whose combination of Accoyo bloodlines and solid colour genetics makes him one of our favourite studs.

Ellis is her new cria, and has the sort of high-quality fleece that you would expect from his Daddy, the National Supreme Championship winner Wessex Mateus.

SouthWest Alpacas is an independent UK alpaca breeder, based in Devon, south west England, UK. We took up alpaca breeding for their wonderful fleece, not to mention their calm temperament, and the simplicity of farming alpacas. Their luxurious natural fibre is light, strong, soft & warm, and it comes in 22 natural colours, from a true rich black, through chocolate brown and russet, as well as various shades of grey, honey and fawn, to a light champagne and finally pure white. It also holds dye very well, which makes alpaca fibre ideal for organic or hypoallergenic clothing & fashion, from hats to gloves, jumpers & scarves or scarfs. Alpaca fibre is an untreated natural fabric, making it ideal for people with allergies & sensitive skin. Our website offers a wealth of information on alpaca breeding, alpaca fleeces & alpaca yarns. We also offer links for information on luxury knitwear - designer knitwear - alpaca clothing & knitwear - as well as alpaca fur toy animals.
